FAQs

  • Polyfiber is the traditional method of covering an airplane. This is a laborious process and requires the fabric to be treated and painted after it is installed on the aircraft surfaces.

Oratex fabric comes pre-treated and dyed but it is limited to certain aircraft types. The post-installation labor is reduced because of the fabric treatment but the fabric is also more expensive.

Both systems yield a fantastic product and choosing between the two depends on the airplane and your goals.

  • Most projects are given a 4 week turn around time from the day we receive the aircraft until the day you can fly it home.

  • Absolutely! We work with our customers through every detail before paint starts and give you a sketch of the final product to approve beforehand.

  • First the airplane is disassembled, this includes removing the wings, elevator, and control surfaces.

Next the fabric is removed and the airframe is inspected for corrosion or damage.

The airframe is then treated if necessary and prepped for fabric application.

Fabric is glued and stitched to the airframe components.

The fabric is then treated in a multi-stage process after it is installed on the airframe. This includes a UV treatment that will protect the fabric from the sun.

Finally we paint the covered components separately before reassembly and a logbook entry.

  • We do offer financing for your project.

Financing terms range between 12 and 60 months with 10-25% down and payments as low as $150.
